Jeremy Lin, the Story Behind Linsanity!

Are you amazed with the latest news about Jeremy Lin joining the Houston Rockets? Do you wish your children could learn from Jeremy's secrets of success? Here is a letter from his mom about two upcoming evangelistic meetings in Hong Kong and Taiwan for youths and young adults.

"Many of you had been ask about Jeremy' testimony, he is going to have one in Taiwan and one in HK this coming summer. This is the best he can do with his limited time.

Both events will have internet stream, TV broadcast, broadcast in churches.. for details,

Free feel to share the events."

I could not go to Hong Kong or Taiwan for these events, but I saw and heard Michael Chang (the tennis player) again on July 16 when he spoke with Chinese pastors in the Bay Area. Michael now has a 19-month-old daughter who called him Da Da. They are teaching her some Mandarin. Here is part of what Michael shared with actions:

When we ask, "YanJing Na?" She points at her eye.
When we ask, "BiZi Na?" She points at her nose.
When we ask, "Tou Na?" She points at her toe. (The audience all laughed.)

Being a father, I have the opportunity to watch and participate in my little girl's learning and growing. Whenever she discovers something new, she looks so happy, and that bring joy to my heart. If an earthy father like me feels all these love happiness, cares and worries, how much more God the Father loves me!

Sometimes (when we play) and she kicks me in my face, ohoh, it hurt! But it reminds me the picture of forgiveness.

I appreciate Michael for who he is as a follower of Christ. Why do we parents bring our children to God? Remember Psalm 127.

1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
2 In vain you rise early and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat--for he grants sleep to those he loves.
3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, are children born in one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

What is your expectation for your child?
Do you wish your child to be successful?
How do you define success?

Don't forget to bring each child to our Creator God, Abba Father through His Son Jesus Christ. Children learn how to live from their parents. How do you face ups and downs? Your influence could be positive or negative. May your thoughts and actions be constructive, instead of destructive, so to benefit one another.

I cannot go to Hong Kong and Taiwan this summer. I will be giving a Mandarin workshop "Making Your Good Marriage GREAT!" on August 26 in San Jose. The poster is attached. Please join us and spread the word about my event and Jeremy's!

Please pray with us that Jeremy will reach many young lives in Hong Kong, Taiwan, U.S. and around the world. Pray for each other as we go about doing what the Lord places in front of us. Pray that we will be living in Christ day by day, moment by moment.
